In 2017 I developed an allergic reaction to a well-known shower gel, a shower gel that I had used hundreds of times before.  Cocoamidopropyl Betaine is an ingredient commonly used that gives it extra bubbles.

So out of necessity, I started researching and trying to make my own more natural based soaps and during this search, I came across a soap-making tutorial and I instantly fell in love with the designs and patterns made as well as the ingredients that can be added to make it more luxurious and more skin-loving along with the endless fragrance choices.  So, I started making my own soap and giving it to friends and family with really positive feedback.

 
After many months of experiments and a whole load of money Island Soapery was born, and I started to sell.

Why the name Island Soapery? I come from a small Island in the South Atlantic Ocean called St Helena and moved to a bigger Island called the United Kingdom, so I always knew when thinking about a name that the word Island had to be in there somewhere.

Over the years I have added to what I make and sell, and simply love mastering a product so I can make it the best it can be, but making soap is still my first love.
